Provenance Geelong Shiraz, the vineyard is located on a north-east slope, approximately 5 km south of the township of Bannockburn, in the Moorabool valley sub-region of the Geelong GI.
A red sandy loam topsoil mixed with ironstone gravel sits above a mix of red clay and limestone subsoils, this soil combination grows vines of moderate vigour. Very cool night-time temperatures in its valley location ensures excellent natural acid retention. The 2010 growing season is the tenth that the vineyard has been farmed using organic principles, with bio-dynamic inputs taking place for the fifth year in a row.
Located 15km north-west of Geelong, 5km north-east of of Bannockburn, 60km west of Melbourne Provenance Wines specialises in Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz .
