It’s simple. The combination of ancient Cambrian soil and hot climate up there produces a style of Shiraz that is too good to be missed. Sourced from a single block of vines, the fruit produced to make this style of wine is quintessentially Heathcote.
The Ingram Road Heathcote Shiraz is outstanding in it’s ability to coat your mouth with intense dark fruits and savory spice, this wine is the perfect match for heavy red meats on a cold winter night in front of the fire.
Once picked the fruit is destemmed then gently crushed to maintain whole berries. From there it is transferred to open-top fermenters, sitting on skins for 14 days.
The wine is then gently pressed off, settled and racked into French Oak barriques (20%) new, for 14 months to mature. We use this method to enhance the rounded mouthfeel and savoury characters typical of Shiraz from this region.
Ingram Road Heathcote Shiraz Magenta in colour. Aromas of dark berries, mint and dark chocolate. Intense black fruits throughout the mid palate, plums, leather, liquorice. Ample tannin and black pepper spice. Drink now or cellar for up to 10 years.
