Peter Lehmann H&V Barossa Valley Shiraz resources from across the breadth of Barossa Valley are second to none, allowing a number of interpretations of this classic variety.
The Hill & Valley Shiraz is made with vibrancy and dimension front of mind, and is blended from no fewer than six of Barossa’s top sub-regions. All parcels were processed individually to create a final blend with layers of varietal character.
The Barossa is acknowledged as the home of the world’s great Shiraz – its unmatched style and character define a place, a wine region. No wonder Peter Lehmann’s first released wine was a Barossa Shiraz, with the traditional style still upheld for over 3 decades.
The 2013 vintage was our earliest and one of the driest and quickest for many years. The weather remained warm to hot throughout but without any extended heat waves and the unusually small crop has produced highly coloured, richly structured red wines destined for many years in the cellar- an outstanding red wine vintage.
The wine was fermented on skins for up to two weeks to maximise colour and flavour and then aged for 12 months in French oak hogsheads.
A perfect accompaniment to a spicy beef stir-fry, barbecued chorizo sausage or a great parmesan.
