The graffiti pieces that adorn the label are only the very beginning of the story. Longview has created limited, collectible art on the bottle and what’s inside is equally so.
Every vintage, we take great care to isolate select rows of the best Shiraz fruit, then go a step further by hand-picking only perfect bunches based on flavour. The yields are small but the rewards are plentiful resulting in only 200 dozen of the best Shiraz we could make.
Whole bunches in small open fermenters deliver delicacy to the blue and red fruit spectrum; and anise and clove combine to give this wine its spicy decadence. Subtle French oak influence ensures the fruit harvested remains the star of this experience.
Decant if consuming now but will reward those patient enough to cellar 10+ years.
92 Points – Toni Paterson, The Real Review. “A supple, concentrated, medium-weight wine with raspberry flavours and attractive spice. Bright, balanced with intense red fruit.”
92 Points – Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Real Review. “Almost a caricature of the full throttle Oz shiraz the world loves, this is a ripe, appealing wine, velvety and satisfying. It has tons of flavour and soft tannins in seamless harmony.”

“The wine itself is another masterpiece. It has ample aromas of plums and some dried herbs with just a hint of forest floor. A big, powerful, well-structured palate which is smooth and rich with an excellent tight finish. Great now but will continue to evolve over the next few years. VERY SOPHISTICATED and brilliantly packaged.” – Dan Traucki
Longview The Piece Shiraz once opened it displays aromas of white pepper, maraschino cherry, liquorice and mocha coupled with restrained pencil shavings of French oak. The palate displays a tightly wound balance of cherry, red currant, blueberries and fresh acidity.
Dusty tannins complement the finish which is dry and clean with tremendous length. Cellar for 12 years or more.

Adelaide Hills Shiraz Trophy International Wine Challenge ’18
“Ripe, fresh blackberry fruit. Aromatic and ripe, with firm tannins and powerful flavours. Lovely acidity, freshness and aromatics. Rich, dense, but beautifully balanced. Very good length”
“96 points + Exceptional” “Powerhouse red. Rich, meaty, perfumed, lashed with oak, dashed with sweet spice. Adelaide Hills shiraz with the lot. Tannin is fine, infused with coffee, and in control. It’s a red to be reckoned with, and it’s going to mature – quite gloriously – over a long period.”
– Campbell Mattinson, Wine Companion ’19
“96 points” “Deep red/purple colour. Big, earthy, dry spice aromas, the palate sweet-fruited and lush. A big, voluminous, almost opulent shiraz, with a sweet fruit core and appealing spicy lift on the nose. This has intensity and elegance, and some cool-grown spicy charm, good drive and length. Delicious wine.”
– Huon Hooke, The Real Review, April ’18
