“Special Value”
“At this giveaway price any shortcomings aren’t worth mentioning – and there are no technical issues. It’s actually a lovely, light to medium-bodied juicy red wine.”
James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion ’20
Bullant Cabernet Merlot “Deep crimson; a succulent combination of red and black fruits, sage and cinnamon; the palate is medium-bodied fleshy and evenly balanced, offering plenty of complexity and depth for the price tag.”
James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion
2012 Cabernet Merlot Gold Medal Royal Hobart Wine Show ’15
A great range of approachable, drink-now wines from Greg Follett at Lake Breeze Wines. Using fruit from the family vineyards at Langhorne Creek, the label is named after the bullants which are known to harass vineyard workers. As is the case with the Lake Breeze wines, the Bullant range over-delivers, possessing vibrant fruit flavours with palate richness and offer great value. The ageing in oak for 15 months has enhanced the mouthfeel of this wine, which is rich and smooth, and offers a lovely soft finish with polished tannins. Best consumed over the next 5-6 years and will drink even more dangerously paired with roast lamb.
While you’re enjoying this wine, spare a thought for our vineyard workers who once danced amongst the vines avoiding the menacing bullants who resided there.
