Lightfoot & Sons Myrtle Point Pinot Noir astute winemaking has employed parcels of wild yeast and whole bunch fermentation, married with conventional fermentation, has worked well to invest the wine with considerable complexity; black cherry, red cherry and plum fruit is interwoven with balanced French oak, and sufficient tannins for longevity.

Lightfoot & Sons Myrtle Point Pinot Noir Pale and elegantly perfumed, this Gippsland pinot noir offers floral, red cherry and strawberry aromas with a savoury foresty edge. Its light-to-medium bodied with a gentle, finely textured palate. Lighter Pinot Full of fragrant charm.

Lightfoot & Sons’ wines are made exclusively from grapes grown by the Lightfoot family at their Myrtle Point Vineyard in the Gippsland Lakes District, Victoria. The Terra Rosa over limestone soils in the vineyard and the region’s cool, semi-maritime climate, provide an ideal environment for producing premium wine.

“MV6, 20% of the total was whole bunches, but individual batches ranged from zero to 75%, matured in French oak (15% new). An elegant mid-weight pinot, primary with red fruits providing the flavour, supported by fine-grained tannins and integrated oak. It’s clear the Gippsland Lakes enjoyed the same ideal conditions as regions further west in Vic. Screwcap. 13% alc.”
