Provenance Pinot Gris rom the very cool Western Victorian town of Tarrington, but reached flavour ripeness in this challenging vintage; moreover, the almost fleshy pear and ginger has very good line, length and balance.
Winemaker Scott Ireland has slotted this one straight through the sticks. It has unashamed varietal character yet it doesn’t become an oily, fat caricature of itself. Subdued, waxy viscosity; just the right amount of curvaceousness. Nashi pear, pickled ginger and honeysuckle on the nose with a suggestion of musk.Follows through on the palate too, rolling to a persistent conclusion….
