Beautiful aromas of nectarine, pear and melon combine with honeysuckle notes derived from the older oak and yeast lees. The palate is full flavoured with ripe tropical fruits and butterscotch. Extended lees contact in barrel and tank has added weight and mouthfeel to the palate. A nice cross section of fruit flavours, texture and hints of creamy lees are the hallmarks of a very strong 2018 Embers Chardonnay.
2018 ‘Embers’ Chardonnay
“(…) great value.”
“(…) an evolved toastiness, with generous oak plus butterscotch and pineapple nuances. It’s full-bodied and rich, multi-layered and generous, with the full paintbox of chardonnay character. Bright acidity keeps it all in line. Very good in its style.
A crowd-pleaser, and great value.”
