The Three Dark Horses Grenache is from 70 year old dry grown bush vines this is a delicate touch on an old variety. Wild fermented with 20% whole bunches this has trademark spice with strawberry and raspberry aromas. The plate is medium to full bodied with fine sandy tannins.
7 day wild ferment with regular pump over. 20% whole bunch inclusion. 16 months in seasoned French oak. Bottled without fining or filtration in September 2014.

Three Dark Horses is the new project for former Coriole winemaker Matt Broomhead. When the opportunity arose in 2009 to make wine from Bruno Romano’s old vineyard in the Seaview sub region of McLaren Vale- Matt teamed up with his father Alan and grandfather Frank and the Three Dark Horses were born.
Today Matt and Alan run this small label with Matt’s 90-year-old grandfather Frank a vintage regular. Their focus is on producing small batch, hand made, and a ordable wines of character.
