The Peter Lehmann Art ‘n’ Soul Semillon has a delicate green gold colour leading to flavours of lemon flower and just a hint of bee’s wax.
The palate is soft with a clean, dry finish and it is a wine that can be cellared with confidence if desired during which time it will become more complex and honeyed.
Bursting with lemon zest and delicious floral notes, young Barossa Semillon is a wonderful food wine. This is a soft style drawing fruit from some of the Barossa’s oldest and most proven vineyards.
The Peter Lehmann Art ‘n’ Soul Semillon fruit was picked early, crushed, chilled and the juice immediately separated from the skins to enhance delicacy. Following cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks and a couple of months on yeast lees, the wine was clarified and bottled.
Peter Lehmann built his winery by defying accepted wisdom, courting near misses and narrow scrapes, and never shirking the opportunity to challenge the norm. The same values exist today with our winemakers treating every wine as a blank canvas and their “palette” consists of fruit from more than 140 growers. These wines are made to capture the colour and fun experienced as Peter Lehmann lived his dream, with all his ‘art and soul.
Semillon has found a natural home here in the Barossa. One of the very first white wine grape varieties planted by European settlers in the 19th century, the Barossa is now blessed with a rich heritage of old, low yielding Semillon vineyards. We’ve always had a particularly soft spot for Semillon and have worked with our family of growers to protect this magnificent inheritance.
