Mount Vernon Pinot Gris was produced from low yielding vines, picked in ideal condition and tank fermented to retain the bright fruit characters. Pear, peach and lifted floral notes lead to a crisp, dry palate with lovely intensity and weight.

Mount Vernon Pinot Gris displays a wonderful array of aromas with pear, lemon and orange blossom featuring strongly. The soft round palate shows delicious stone fruit and citrus flavours, that are balanced by lovely acidity on the finish.
The grapes for this wine cam in in pristine condition, they were gently pressed before a low temperature fermentation (12-14c) in stainless steel tanks. This method helps to retain the wines beautiful aromatics, post fermentation the tanks were lees stirred to encourage yeast autolysis which adds extra palate weight to the finished wine.
Produced from four different vineyard blocks, three located in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley and the fourth over in the Awatere Valley. All the vines were VSP pruned and shoot thinned before a light leaf plucking, this was followed by a colour thinning of the bunches later in the season.
