Mount Monument Pinot Noir bright and clear purple-red; a scented red fruit bouquet, followed by an elegant, lissom and long palate with black and red cherry flavours, and particularly fine tannins. Holds much promise.
Mount Monument nestles into the shoulder of Mt. Macedon, Australia’s coolest wine region. This unique, unspoiled environment combines with rare volcanic silica soils and mature vines to find expression within our wines.
In 2008, Prominent Melbourne architect Nonda Katsalidis and wife Jane acquired the pre-existing vineyard and embarked on major trellis redesign for the existing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling, while undertaking
major terracing works on a new site on the north face of Mt Monument, where 1ha of nebbiolo (with three clones) will be planted. All of these changes and winemaking is under the direction of Keith Brien.
